Rilis Elive 1.9.60 (Unstable)
Versi pengembangan terbaru Elive, live CD yang menampilkan window manager Enlightment 17 yang sudah dikustomisasi dan dibangun diatas Debian stable telah dirilis:
The Elive Team is proud to announce the release of the development version 1.9.60. We are very close to the next stable version of Elive 2.0. These are the last development versions coming so you are more than welcome to report bugs now. If you are an Elive translator this is the moment to finish all the remaining messages to be translated. Changes: an entirely different system rewritten for auto-launchers containing features which are more handy and less annoying, entirely configurable; Touchpad configurator added; added a new driver for CD-ROM drives needed to boot into live mode; misc bugs fixed, features added, and a few informative messages added; Linux kernel version 2.6.30.

Rilis ArtistX 0.8
Marco Ghirlanda mengumumkan rilis ArtistX 0.8, Live DVD berbasis Ubuntu yang berisi berbagai macam paket piranti lunak multimedia bebas untuk produksi audio, grafik dan video:
ArtistX 0.8 includes the 2.6.28 Linux kernel, GNOME 2.26 and KDE 4.2, Compiz Fusion and about 2,500 free multimedia software packages, nearly everything that exists for the GNU/Linux operating system. Main features: based on Ubuntu 9.04, Compiz Fusion for 3D desktop effects; most of Ubuntu multimedia packages. Rilis VortexBox 1.1
Andrew Gillis mengumumkan rilis VortexBox 1.1, distrbusi berbasis Fedora yang bisa dengan mudah mengubah komputer yang sudah tidak digunakan menjadi server audio atau jukebox:
VortexBox 1.1 released. I am very excited about this release of VortexBox. We are moving from being just a media server to a music player as well. This version of VortexBox includes VortexBox Player. You can use your internal sound card or external USB DAC to play your music. VortexBox Player supports music recorded at up to 24-bit / 192 kHz. This is higher then most players support including the Sonos and SqueezeBox line of hardware players. We have also added a lot of other great features requested by the VortexBox, SqueezeBox, and Sonos communities: VortexBox Player as the default software player; covers are added to all MP3 files for easy use in iTunes and XBMC; option to have MP3 or AAC mirror updated after ripping.

It’s here! The first openSUSE 11.3 milestone. The most important goal of this first milestone is to test the build interactions between newly added features in openSUSE Factory, also known as ‘get the snapshot to build’. It is in no way feature complete or ready for daily usage. There is no code freeze for any component yet, so many major changes are still to come. This 11.3 Milestone build will give you a first glimpse of the direction we are pushing the distribution.

Rilis Skolelinux 5.0 RC2
Holger Levsen mengumumkan ketersediaan release candidate kedua Skolelinux 5.0, distribusi berbasis Debian untuk sekolah / edukasi yang juga dikenal dengan nama Debian-Edu:
I’m very happy to announce the second release candidate (rc2) of the Lenny-based Skolelinux version. Please test these images as much as you can and report back. Except for documentation and translation updates, this is intended to become the Lenny release. Here are the most notable changes since the last test release (rc1): updated manual and updated translations to German, Italian and Norwegian; updated translations of the installer for German, Swedish, Russian, Spanish, Turkish, Portuguese, Chinese, Norwegian, French, Japanese and Czech; optimisations for running cfengine, resulting in a faster install; usplash is disabled on specific hardware where it is known to break….
