Eric Turgeon mengumumkan ketersediaan rilis beta GhostBSD 1.5, distribusi BSD berbasis FreeBSD berbentuk Live CD dengan GNOME dan installer sistem grafikal yang sedang dalam proses pengerjaan: GhostBSD 1.5 beta is here. In this beta we have the back-end of the PC-BSD installer, but it is not configured to install GhostBSD. We have added CUPS and Compiz but we have not tested whether CUPS works. Compiz is part of the system but with an X.Org configuration that won’t work with Compiz. But once the installer is completed, GhostBSD should be ready to use Compiz. I have tried to make the live CD mount devices but I have had some difficulties to make it work. Please, if you find a bug or have an idea or a solution to these problems, email me. As with the standard Xfce edition, this CD image allows installation to be performed in three different modes – core, basic and full. Versi terbaru Absolute Linux, distro ringan berbasis Slackware dengan IceWM, datang dengan Google Chrome sebagai web browser default dan beberapa perbaikan sekuriti: Absolute Linux 13.1.2 released. Google Chrome replaces Mozilla Firefox as default browser. Lower memory usage, faster rendering and proper URL parsing all contributed to this decision.
