Tim Pengembang PCLinuxOS telah Merilis PCLinuxOS 2010 edisi “Openbox” yang menggunakan Openbox sebagai desktop environment alternatif dan melengkapi rilis dari seri PCLinuxOS 2010:

PCLinuxOS 2010 Openbox edition provides a fully-featured desktop, showcasing the small, fast, and fully compliant Openbox window manager. Internet applications include Firefox web browser, Sylpheed email client, Pino twitter client and Pidgin for instant messaging. Office applications include AbiWord word processor, Gnumeric spreadsheet and Mozilla Sunbird calendar. Graphic applications include GIMP, GQview, and MTPaint. Rilis PCLinuxOS 2010.1

PCLinuxOS 2010.1 merupakan update perbaikan bug untuk distro distro PCLinuxOS 2010 yang baru saja dirilis:

PCLinuxOS 2010.1 KDE 4 edition is now available for download. Linux kernel updated to 2.6.32.12-bfs. Linux kernel 2.6.33.2 also available from our software repository, KDE SC desktop upgraded to version 4.4.3. Added support for Realtek RTL8191SE and RTL8192SE WiFi cards. Added support for Microdia webcams. Added vim console text editor. Added udftools. Fixed CD-ROM ejection when using the copy-to-RAM feature. Fixed KDE new widget download. Updated NVIDIA (195.36.24) and ATI fglrx (8.723) drivers. Updated all supporting applications and libraries from the software repository which include security updates and bug fixes. Please note if you have already installed the PCLinuxOS 2010 release you can simply update it from the Synaptic software manager.

Rilis PCLinuxOS 2010 Beta 2

Rilis beta kedua dari PCLinuxOS 2010 tersedia untuk diunduh dan dites. Apa saja yang baru?

Linux kernel updated to 2.6.32.10 – updates, bug fixes and suggestions based on community feedback over the past week were implemented on the live CD. In addition to the KDE 4.4.1 version, we now have GNOME, Phoenix Xfce, PCLXDE and GNOME Zen Mini ISO images available which showcase the various desktops available on PCLinuxOS. An Enlightenment desktop ISO image is also in the works and should be available sometime this week. PCLinuxOS 2010 was built from the ground up using the packages in our repository. This weeks changelog: fixed menu translations; dropped most of PulseAudio out of system, KDE now gets ALSA analog and digital devices by default; temporarily removed admin functions from system settings menu until I can package it in to an RPM….

Tim Pengembang PCLinuxOS telah merilis versi beta pertama distro PCLinuxOS 2010 :

PCLinuxOS 2010 Beta 1 features 2.6.32.8 kernel using the BFS scheduler for maximum desktop performance on i686 computers. This kernel supports up to 4 GB of memory. A PAE kernel is available from the Synaptic package manager providing up to 64 GB of memory support. In addition, ext4 support is also available. A nicely customized KDE 4.4.1 desktop that is both beautiful and very fast with the latest KDE applications. A unified KDE/GTK+ theme included to provide a consistent look and feel between KDE and GTK+ applications. Firefox also uses KDE dialogs. Reworked menu system with less subcategories to make it easy and fast to find your applications. Plymouth bootsplash available on installed system for cool graphic effects. Additional themes available from the software repository.
