Here comes the last development release of Mandriva Linux 2010.1. A few days left now before final release planned for 3rd of June. These ISOs are available on all public mirrors: 32-bit and 64-bit DVD images and mini dual images (both 32-bit and 64-bit) for ‘Free’ release (100% open-source software); live ‘One’ images for KDE and GNOME environments. These images can be fully tested on your hardware but also on virtual machines (VirtualBox, QEMU, KVM). You can also dump them on USB keys as an installation media.

We are now very near the final release. Here comes the second beta release for 2010.1 version of Mandriva Linux. As usual you will be able to test it as it’s available on your favorite public mirror. This second beta release comes with many updates and improvements on major software packages. Mandriva tools have also been updated and provide new functionality: data encryption – encrypt your home directory or your system, it’s as easy as click; parental control – many bug fixes, you can now control not only network access but also applications; network profiles – add your network services to your network profiles; Mandriva Directory Server – this release provides new functionality to help you manage an LDAP directory.

The time has came for the first beta release of the 2010.1 version of Mandriva Linux. It’s now available as 32-bit and 64-bit DVD images, as well as live CD images with GNOME or KDE. This release includes GNOME 2.30 and a preview edition of GNOME-Shell, which will be part of GNOME 3 (which is planned for release in September 2010). Of course, KDE 4.4.2 is also available, as well as various updates for many programs in the distribution. As usual, your feedback is really important to help with improving the quality of distribution. You can report improvement proposals and/or bugs in Mandriva Bugzilla.
