Debian Lenny Memasuki End Of Life Dengan Update 5.0.10

Proyek Debian mengumumkan bahwa Debian 5.0.10 akan menjadi update terakhir Debian 5, yang memiliki code name Lenny. Update ini terutama menyertakan patch keamanan kritis dan beberapa perbaikan bug penting dan juga menyertakan seluruh update keamanan sejak rilis terakhir. Patch-patch ini telah dikirimkan ke sistem Debian 5 jika update otomatis dinyalakan, pengguna yang belum menerima update dengan cara ini harus melakukan update secara manual dengan menggunakan update manager.

Debian Lenny dirilis pada bulan Februari 2009 dan tidak mendapat update keamanan reguler sejak bulan Februari tahun ini. Pengembang Debian berencana memindahkan Debian 5 ke archive servers pada tanggal 24 Maret. Pengguna yang menjalankan Debian 5 disarankan untuk melakukan upgrade ke Debian 6 secepatnya.

Rilis grml 2010.04

Michael Prokop mengumumkan rilis grml, live CD berbasis Debian dengan berbagai koleksi aplikasi berbasis teks yang ditujukan terutama untuk pengguna yang lebih memilih menggunakan mode teks dan administrator sistem. Apa saja yang baru di rilis ini:
