Arch Linux Ulang Tahun Kesepuluh

Sepuluh tahun lalu, versi pertama Arch Linux dirilis. Untuk merayakan pencapaian ini, beberapa pengembang distribusi ini mempost pengalaman pribadi mereka mengenai bagaimana mereka berkenalan dengan proyek Arch di blog mereka.

Meskipun Arch Linux merupakan distribusi rolling release dengan update paket disediakan ke pengguna setiap harinya, distribusi ini telah merilis lima belas versi selama 10 tahun keberadaannya. Rilis-rilis ini secara periodik membundle seluruh update yang ada di Arch dalam sebuah image installer untuk meminimalisir waktu yang dibutuhkan pengguna untuk melakukan update setelah melakukan instalasi sistem operasi ini

Rilis KahelOS 05-01-2010

Meric Mara mengumumkan rilis KahelOS 05-01-2010, distribusi Linux berorientasi desktop berbasis Arch Linux yang menyajikan GNOME sebagai desktop default:

Phil Miller mengumumkan rilis alpha kelima dari Chakra, distro Linux berbasis Arch-Linux dan live CD dengan versi terbaru dari desktop KDE, sudah tersedia untuk dicoba:

Rilis Pengembangan Chakra Alpha 4

Phil Miller mengumumkan ketersediaan versi alpha keempat Chakra, distribusi linux desktop dalam LiveCD dengan KDE 4 berbasis Arch Linux:

Today we are pleased to announce the release of alpha 4, named ‘NewAge’, of our very own Chakra live media. A lot has changed since alpha 3. We have a new KDE 4 theme; Tribe can install custom mount points, and we did a ton of fixes. KDEmod got updated to version 4.3.3. Chakra hardware detection got stripped down to fit X.Org Server 1.7.1.901 package, so only NVIDIA drivers are the supported proprietary drivers for now. Most noticeable changes and additions since alpha 3: Linux kernel 2.6.31.6 with fglrx patch; Chakra tools updated (aqpm, shaman, chase); ATI Catalyst support temporarily dropped….
