Mandriva Linux 2010 Alpha 2 is now available on public mirrors. This alpha is available only through ‘Free’ editions, 32-bit and 64-bit DVDs. Despite our planning modification (if you haven’t heard it already, Mandriva Linux 2010 will be released on November 3rd, 2009), we were able to provide this alpha 2 release sooner than expected. Among many things, the following components have been updated in alpha 2: KDE 4.3 RC 3; GNOME 2.27.5, including new client-side window GTK+ feature (help to prevent flickering); Linux kernel 2.6.31-rc4, X.Org Server 1.6.3 with latest driver for Intel graphic chipset (should improve performance and stability).

Macpup Opera 061 is based on Ttuuxxx’s 4.2v2 ‘Deeper thought’ (2.6.25.16), a ‘no Bling’ version of Puppy Linux 4.2 with all of the current updates. It has D-Bus 1.2.4 compiled and installed from source and the Enlightenment 17 desktop version 0.16.999.061 compiled and installed from source with the updated version of librsvg 2.26.0. Opera 061 includes lots of the e17 extra modules like Flame, Rain, Snow and Penguins, and lots of extra shelf modules like Net, Tclock, Moon. Some of the shelf modules like CPU and Weather are unstable and may crash. Also included is the Opera 9.64 browser. GIMP 2.4.6 Xvidcap and Avidemux are included as .pets.
